Happy Bday Justin Bieber and Ke$ha!

A birthday is special. But it’s even more special when two huge pop-stars celebrate their bday on the same day. And it’s even MORE special when they celebrate together with a huge birthday bash, and we’re invited!

Okay, so we completely made that last part up. We have no idea if they plan on having a party together. And we’re definitely not invited. But we can still dream can’t we?

Here’s a few things that we would bring to the imaginary double bday bash for Ke$ha and the Biebz:

1. Purple Glitter Balloons

Is there a better way of combining Justin’s love for everything purple and Ke$ha’s obsession with things that glitter? We sincerely doubt it. These are a must have.

2. Fruit Punch

This one’s tough. Not because we can’t think of a quality punch recipe, but because if we know anything about Ke$ha, she’ll try her best to spike it with her famous “Bottle of Jack.” That’s a no-no for our Biebz, considering he’s only turning 17. On second thought, maybe it’d be better to bring separate punch bowls.

3. Our Dancing Shoes

We all know Bieber loves to bust a move. And so does Ke$ha (Obvs! Her new album is called I Am The Dance Commander + I Command You To Dance!). But the big kicker here is that, if it’s a party for Bieber, you know Usher is gonna be there. Can you imagine him leading everyone through a group dance choreography session? OMG to the max!

In case you haven’t heard, JUSTIN BIEBER GOT A HAIRCUT! That’s right, after years of sporting his signature swoop, our precious young Biebz has moved on to a new style: the bed head look. The picture above, showing off Justin’s new look, debuted on Twitter last night courtesy of his hairstylist @ThatLadyV.

Seeing Bieber’s new look got us thinking about the legend of Samson. If you’re not familiar, here’s the simplest rundown we can possibly give you: Samson had super human strength. He also had long hair. When his hair was chopped off, he lost all his power.

Now it’s silly to think that Justin would suffer the same fate as Samson. But in case there’s anyone out there that suspects Justin’s singing powers may have left him along with his chestnut locks, we’ve got a suggestion for good ol’ JB to put those doubts to rest: release a cover album. This way Justin can silence any doubters and build even more buzz around his new look. A genius plan, right?

What songs would Justin cover, you ask? Here are 3 tracks we suggest to get him started:

1. Willow Smith – “I Whip My Hair”

Even though he won’t be able to whip his hair back and forth with quite as much flair, Justin still can’t deny the relevance of Willow’s smash hit. We’re already picturing the music video in our heads… and it’s wonderful!

2. The Cowsills – “Hair”

This classic track from the 1968 musical Hair might be just the right thing for Justin. To avoid the hypocrisy in singing the song after cutting off his hair, Justin should go ahead and immediately dedicate the song to the memory of his old mop. Also, the YouTube vid above has an awesome home made video that Justin can take inspiration from (thanks to YouTube user brutusepiglottis).

3. Regina Spektor – “Samson”

In addition to being a beautiful song, Regina Spektor’s song “Samson” references the very same legend we did earlier. It also includes the lyric “your hair was long when we first met.” If Justin substitues the word “my” in for “your” then this one is an absolutely perfect fit, right?

Throw these cover songs on a new EP and we’re thinkin’ it’ll shoot straight to the top of the charts. Don’t worry, Justin. You can thank us later for the idea.

You’ve gotta see this! Earlier today, the Bieber posted a TwitVid of his newfound rap skills. Check out Shawty Mane (Justin’s rap alias) spitting his freestyle called “Speaking In Tongues” below. THUG LIFE, eh Biebs? LOL. In all honestly though, these freestyle rhymes aren’t so bad. And let’s be honest, if the kid makes a rap album, who isn’t gonna wanna hear it just out of curiosity? Just sayin’.

Today, Justin released a video for his song “U Smile.” In the clip, Justin runs into a group of teenage girls, clearly his most devoted fan demographic. Seems like a pretty standard day in the life of Justin Bieber, if I say so.

Ah but that’s where things get interesting. It turns out the teenage heartthrob has eyes for one of his girly fans. Love at first sight, it would seem. After inviting her on a date later that night, the two lovebirds frolic in the depths of a theatre auditorium. Justin busts out some of his ever-improving dance steps and serenades his date from behind a giant grand piano. So romantic, JB!

The video is sure to set the imaginations of teen girls everywhere absolutely on fire. Couple this with the news earlier this month that he’d be willing to “date a fan” and the guy’s in for a bunch more craziness. As if the guy didn’t have enough girls chasing after him already.

The video sees the singer donning a number of Hollywood costumes and personas. But his funniest look comes just about right off the bat, when he does his best Justin Bieber impression, complete with sweeping hair and high tops!

Now I know what you’re thinking, Is he making fun of poor little Justin? The answer: Of course not, they’re both Canadian! If there’s one thing you should know about us Canadians, it’s that we’re a friendly bunch.

The MTV VMAs have come and gone for 2010. It was a show filled with star studded performers and awards. And although it may not have had the WOW moments of year’s past (Kanye, Taylor anybody?), there was still enough material to make for some pretty good water cooler discussion. So if you missed any of the action, we’ve got the low down to get you up to speed.

The show opened with a performance from Eminem. Playing his smash hits “Not Afraid” and “Love the Way You Lie,” Eminem did his part to get the party started. For the latter song, he was joined on stage by Rihanna, and together they got the crowd in a party mood. Check it out below.

Then came time for host Chelsea Handler to take the reigns. It started with a backstage skit that featured a series of butt slaps from the likes of Lil’ Jon, Flo-Rida, and even Lindsay Lohan, who was able to turn her well documented issues–including her recent prison stint–into a pretty funny bit.

After the skit aired, Chelsea took the stage in a Lady Gaga inspired costume, dropped some jokes on some attendees, including everyone from the cast of the Jersey Shore to Justin Bieber.

Ellen Degeneres showed up to present the first award. Not unexpectedly, Lady Gaga took home the Moonman for Best Female Video. Here’s a hint, this wasn’t the last time she got up on stage.

Next up was the award for Best Rock Video. The guys from Jackass took the stage to promote their upcoming film, and after a bit of goofing around, they let us know 30 Seconds to Mars won the award. Frontman Jared Leto, a guy who literally doesn’t seem to age, gave a short but sweet acceptance speech, thanking the band’s fans.

After that, it was on to Kim Kardashian backstage for a lead in to Justin Bieber’s performance. The teenage phenom took the stage outside of the Nokia Theater and wowed the crowd with a number of his famous hits and surprisingly solid dance moves. Despite all the dancing, his vocals stayed remarkably solid, which was enough for more than a few Twitterers to claim that he was lip synching. We’ve got our own opinions on that, but you’ll have be the judge on this one. He finished off with a drum solo. That part was definitely legit.

Back inside the show went on with house DJ Deadmau5 keeping the mood high with his spins. Ke$ha and Trey Songz introduced Usher, who put on a solid stage production. It’s a good thing Justin Bieber was watching his musical mentor perform because Usher’s definitely done this before, and it shows.

Presenters Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj made their way on stage to the delight of all the males in the audience. The two of them joked around about finding a man at the VMAs–something Katy knows too well after nabbing her husband Russell Brand at last year’s awards. Eminem took the award for Best Male Video, but had sadly already hopped on a plane for New York and was unable to accept it.

After some tunes from Deadmau5 and an auto-tuned comedy bit by the host, it was time for Florence + The Machine to hit the stage. If you weren’t aware of Florence + The Machine before, you should definitely take notice now. Lead singer Florence Welch is immensely talented, which she proved with her rendition of “Dog Days Are Over,” definitely one of the great performances of the night. After, Travie McCoy lead into the commercial break by rapping a verse from his hit “Billionaire.”

To the delight of the many ‘Gleeks’ in the audience, the cast of Glee came out to present the award for Best Pop Video. Guess what, Lady Gaga won again. We all saw that coming.

And now for a moment that you’re sure to hear about more than once, Taylor Swift performed a new song “You’re Still An Innocent” live. Before the track, clips flashed from the infamous Kanye-gate incident last year. She sang about innocence and understanding. Walking around on stage in her bare feet, it sounded like she had genuinely forgiven the rapper for the incident. After some more comedy, the next performance on deck was courtesy of Drake, Mary J. Blige, and Swizz Beatz. They were definitely going for an old fashioned image, with tuxedos and apparel that looked like it came straight out of the 1920s. All that was missing was the swing dancing and prohibition.

Shortly after, Chelsea Handler was back on stage, only to be joined by the Jersey Shore cast, who happened to be in a hot tub. Go figure. She hopped in with them, dress and all.

Next came the presentation of Best Hip Hop Video. Eminem took this one down too, but again couldn’t be in house to accept.

After a few side bits, the next performance was on deck, and it was a real triple threat. B.o.B. teamed up with both Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams for a medley. They went through tracks “Beautiful Girls” and “Airplanes,” with Hayley Williams closing it out with “The Only Exception.” It was a solid performance and really showed off the talents of both Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams. The star status of all three artists is sure to keep rising as a result. Leading into the commercial break, Robyn put on a very energetic performance of her hit “Dancing On My Own.” Even though she had only 30 seconds or so to work with, she showed off her talent and energy. The performance cemented her status as one of the most underrated pop stars in the world.

The award for Best New Artist was next, which went to Justin Bieber. Ok maybe he wasn’t as new as some of the other artists, but you can’t doubt his popularity. In a bit of an awkward moment, Justin couldn’t seem to figure out how to make his way up to the stage. Once he figured it out, he got his acceptance speech out of the way.

Next, a performance by Linkin Park outside the Griffin Observatory high above Los Angeles. The setting helped make the performance a memorable one as they sang their new song “Catalyst.”

After the performance, the cameras went back inside the Nokia Theatre. Cher emerged to present the most important award of the night, Video Of The Year. The prestigious award went to Lady Gaga again, who made her way up on stage. With what’s sure to be a headline for some time to come, she was dressed in a meat dress. Yes, you read that right. A meat dress. PETA definitely won’t be happy.

After asking Cher to “hold her meat purse,” Gaga went into her acceptance speech. As promised, she revealed the title of her new album, which she confirmed to be “Born This Way.” After letting the crowd know of the name, she burst into song, singing the chorus of the title track off the album. It was a moment of genuine emotion and raw talent. She’s so talented that we might even let the meat dress slide this time.

For the finale of the night, Kanye West emerged in a bright red suit. He took his place in the center of the stage over top of his drum machine, and proceeded to crank out an epic bassline. He busted out a new song titled “Runaway” which is sure to be a hit, off his new album due in November. In it, Kanye proposes a toast to the “douche bags,” “a–holes,” and “scumbags.” He was joined onstage by Pusha T from Clipse for a guest verse to top off the performance. After his embarassing night and career low light last year, Kanye definitely redeemed himself and ended the show on a high note. Click here to check out the lyrics to his new song “Runaway.”

And that’s one more year to add to the history books of the MTV VMAs. Taylor Swift’s and Kanye’s performances won’t soon be forgotten. But despite all the quality performances on the night, this year’s VMAs will go down as belonging to Lady Gaga. Taking home 8 Moonmen yourself will do that for ya. Apparently even if you’re wearing a dress made of meat.

So, Justin Bieber and his handlers have begun a voting campaign for his upcoming My World Tour to determine, which countries “want Justin the most?” Naturally, there’s been an attempt to sabotage it.

The online community 4chan have eagerly gone ahead and begun a campaign for the lil Biebs to play a show in North Korea (via URLesque). Now, if you’re not familiar with the North Korean political landscape, let’s just say it isn’t very accommodating to tourists. It looks like the group is set on putting the kid in harms way, and at this point in time, the campaign appears to be working as North Korea has amassed some 495,000 votes. The contest ends sometime tomorrow night, so keep your fingers crossed.

What’s that you ask? Did I vote for North Korea? You bet I did! Say hello to Kim Jong Il for me, Justin.

TMZ reports that the police were called to the “Mug and Mallet” bar in Ocean City, Maryland to reports that The Biebster, himself, was enjoying a tasty alcoholic beverage despite his tender age of 16. When the po-po arrived, the little crooner was nowhere to be found. They did however locate a Justin Biebs lookalike. The only problem is, the lookalike was a she.

Did you hear the one about tween star Justin Bieber’s fans causing a near-riot that shut down a Long Island mall? According to the Associated Press:

Police on Long Island had to shut down a mall appearance by teen pop singer Justin Bieber after thousands of young girls showed up, and got a little too wild.

Girls and adults in the Friday crowd of nearly 3,000 started pushing and shoving as they waited for the 15-year-old to show at a clothing store at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City.

Bieber’s appearance was still two hours away when things got out of hand. Five people were taken to hospitals with minor injuries.

The young singer got started by posting videos of himself singing on YouTube, and now he’s shutting down malls and making prime time TV appearances. Here’s a hilarious interview the confident 15-year-old gave E’s Chelsea Handler recently on Chelsea Lately:
