The Foo Fighters have released a cool new video for their latest single ‘Rope’, off their upcoming album Wasting Light, due out April 12th.

Fun fact: The song ‘Rope’ was recorded entirely on analog tape in Dave Grohl’s garage and no computers or software were used in the production. The band takes their lo-fi approach to the next level by shooting the entire Rope video on VHS tape. You remember VHS, right?

This vid consists of the band playing in a white room, which seems kind of boring at first glance, but the weird effect of the VHS as well as Grohl and his bandmates’ energy makes it worth a watch. Our favourite part is near the ¾ mark when the white walls turn to flashing colours and you can only makeout the silhouettes of the band. It kind of reminds us of those old iPod commercials, don’t you think?

Have a watch…
