Katy Perry has released the much-anticipated music video for her track “Firework,” which is making a serious dent in the charts of late. If you’ve heard the song, you know that it comes with a powerful message. And now the music video picks up that same theme and runs with it.

The pop-star took to her Twitter page to dedicate the video to the “It Gets Better” campaign, a campaign started to reach out to Gay youth everywhere as a result of stories of bullying and suicide in the news lately. The pop-star tweeted, “I am officially dedicating my new video to #itgetsbetter, because everyone has the spark to be a FIREWORK.”

But the message of the song can be taken by anybody that feels like they don’t quite fit in. If you’re different in some way, it doesn’t make you wrong, it makes you unique. So don’t be afraid to let it show. Because as Katy says best herself, “Baby, you’re a firework/ Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth/ Make ‘em go, oh/ As you shoot across the sky.”

With that said, you can probably tell that we’re big fans of the “Firework” video. With so much of pop-music today being without a positive message, this is especially nice to see. Kudos, Ms. Perry.
